Lyle Aden, 67 - July 31, 2012
Services will be conducted at the Banner United Methodist Church on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Janie Freeman officiating. Interment will take place at the Peckham Cemetery at Gothenburg.
A visitation will be at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg on Friday, Aug. 3, from 1 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Aden was born March 2, 1945, at Gothenburg, son of Alvin and Pauline (Garrelts) Aden.
He grew up northeast of Gothenburg on a family farm and graduated from Cozad High School. He resided in the Gothenburg and North Platte area.
Aden was employed as a farmer and worked for the North Platte Fire Department and the Union Pacific Railroad.
On Oct. 26, 1985, he married Peggy Atkinson-Johnson at Banner United Methodist Church of Gothenburg.
He was a member of the Banner United Methodist Church where he served on many committees. He had enjoyed camping, gardening and always had a good joke, said family members.
Aden was preceded in death by: his parents, Alvin and Pauline; a grandson, Cory Went.
Survivors include: his wife, Peggy Aden of Gothenburg; his daughter, Brenda Hayes; two sons—Kelly Aden and Joel (Kim) Aden; three step-sons—David Johnson, Mike (Marci) Johnson and Mike (Jeremy) Wonch; two step-daughters—Chris (Randy) Roenfeldt and Melanie Hall; two sisters—Phyl (Karl) Kostbahn and Marian (Don) Knauss; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Jean Atkinson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
