Paul (Bud) Callahan, 82 - October 31, 2011
Paul “Bud” Leland Callahan, 82, of Farnam died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating. Interment will take place at the Gaslin Cemetery at Brady.
Callahan was born Feb. 23, 1929, south of Brule, the son of Fred and Molly (Connelly) Callahan. He grew up in Lincoln County and attended school at Jeffrey Queen.
He served his country with the Army during the Korean Conflict.
On Jan. 23, 1953, he married Nona Harlene Craig at Brady. To this union, six children were born.
Callahan was employed as a farmer and rancher in the south hills. He enjoyed working in his garden and raising flowers.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Nona Harlene Callahan in 2003; a son, Steve Callahan; a daughter, Kelli; brothers—Bill, Pat, Fritz and Bert Callahan; sisters—Lilly Reutzel, Amy Lind, Irene Lind and Mary Thibodeaux.
Survivors include: his four daughters—Cathlene Callahan, Cindy Callahan, Patty Callahan and Maureen Callahan, all of Brady; six granddaughters—Jacinta Meyer, Molly Miller, Caitlyn Castleberry, Holly Hansen, Lacey McGhee and Kesha Viter; two grandsons—Levi Nelson and Casey Miller; six great-grandsons—Joseph Anderson, Cameron Meyer, Tremaine and Tristen McGhee, Hayden Anderson and Kellin Nelson; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Memorials are suggested to the Brady Fire & Rescue, 207 East Commercial St., Brady, NE 69123.
