Katharine Griffis, 42 - June 27, 2007
Katharine “Kathy” K. Griffis, 42, of Gothenburg died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Gothenburg.
Services were held on Monday, June 25, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating. Burial was at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Griffis was born on Sept. 24, 1964, at Gothenburg, to Garland T. and Velma (Neeman) Underwood.
She grew up in Gothenburg and attended Gothenburg Public Schools, residing in Gothenburg most of her life.
On July 21, 1995, she was united in marriage to Randy Griffis.
Griffis was a manager of Time-Saver in Gothenburg and a Cub Scout Leader of Pack No. 177 for five years.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as camping, fishing, mud races and stock car races, according to family members.
Griffis was preceded in death by her father, Garland T. Underwood and her grandparents.
?Survivors include: her husband, Randy Griffis of Gothenburg; a son, Jeremy Vollbrecht and a daughter, Jessica Vollbrecht, both of Gothenburg; her mother, Velma Underwood of Gothenburg; four brothers—Richard (Chris Earney), Garland (Clare), both of Gothenburg, Randy (Tracy) of North Platte and Stanley (Jeri) of Lexington; sisters—Lolita (Hobart Jr.) Watts of Kearney and Donna Stuck of Powell, WY; six grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; many cousins and beloved friends.
Memorials are suggested to Central Plains Hospice.
