Anna DeLosh, 86 - October 31, 2007
Anna DeLosh, 86, of Gothenburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Banner Methodist Church in Gothenburg with the Rev. Janie Freeman officiating. Burial took place at the Peckham Cemetery.
DeLosh was born on Feb. 8, 1921, at Dustin to John Russell and Violet Winifred (Berry) Montgomery.
She grew up at Stuart and graduated from Stewart High School in 1939.
On May 20, 1939, she was united in marriage to Orman DeLosh at Burwell. To this union five children were born, Arleen, June, Lois, John and Richard.
The couple made their home in the Cozad and Gothenburg area where she worked as a cook in several Gothenburg cafes and as a nurse’s aid in Gothenburg and Cozad nursing homes.
DeLosh was dedicated to her family with love and a sense-of-humor, according to family members. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, raising gardens and flowers.
?She was preceded in death by: her parents, John and Violet; her husband, Orman in 1994; a son, John; sister, Betty; brother, Wayne; five grandchildren.
?Survivors include: a son, Richard (Kay) DeLosh of Grand Island; three daughters—Arleen (Dick) Newbrey of Eustis, June (Jim) Sabin of Gothenburg, and Lois (Dennis) Beran of Grand Island; two sisters—Ella (Glen) Noonan of Maple City, MI, and Lily (Ken) Schleicker of Scottsbluff; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to Gothenburg Memorial Hospital Long Term and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
