Lyle Davis, 61 - March 26, 2008

Lyle W. Davis, 61, of rural Doniphan, formerly of Gothenburg, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at his home.
Services were held Thursday, March 20, at the First Presbyterian Church of Hastings with the Rev. Dr. William G. Nottage-Tacey officiating. Burial was at Parkview Cemetery at Hastings.
Davis was born on Dec. 19, 1946, at Gothenburg to Verlyn and Louise (Johnson) Davis.
He graduated from Gothenburg High School and from Kearney State College, now University of Nebraska at Kearney, with a bachelor of science degree. He also received an associate degree from Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.
On March 20, 1976, he was united in marriage to Barb Stein at the First Presbyterian Church of Hastings.
Davis was the owner and operator of Davis Surveying Inc. for 26 years.
?He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Professional Land Surveyors of Nebraska.
?Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Verlyn and Louise.
?Survivors include: his wife, Barb Davis of Doniphan; a daughter, Jennifer Davis of Hastings; foster son, Godfrey (Deb) Brokenrope of Aurora; brothers—Harold (Judy) Davis and Neil (Sherry) Davis, all of Gothenburg, and Don (Jalene) Davis of Kearney; sister, Elaine (Jerry) Dobson of Gothenburg; brother- and sister-in-law, Ken and Bev Stein of Hastings; numerous nieces and nephews; special animal companions—Cedes, Precious, Madison, MewMew and Pekabu.
