Gladys Hudson, 90 - August 12, 2014Gladys L. Hudson, 90, of Gothenburg passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
Services were conducted at the American Lutheran Church on Friday, Aug. 15, with the Rev. Jon Mapa officiating. Interment took place at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
Hudson was born Aug. 23, 1923, at Brady to Andy and Amanda (Thiesing) Hite.
She attended Gothenburg High School graduating with the Class of 1941. Following high school, she taught school for one year.
On Dec. 25, 1942, she married Earl Hudson at the Zion Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. To this union two sons were born.
Hudson was an avid quilter and enjoyed quilting for the church, and especially for her grandchildren, according to family members. She also loved camping and traveling to country music festivals with her husband.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 67 years, Earl Hudson; her parents, Andy and Amanda; two sisters—Rose Ramsey and Sharon McMichael; four brothers—Jasper, Dale, George and Stan.
?Survivors include: her two sons—Jerry (Joyce) Hudson of Gothenburg and Ron (Carol) Hudson of Shelton; granddaughters—Stacey (Patrick) Winters of Riverdale and Becky (Ryan) Splichal of Omaha; grandsons—Mark (Heather) Hudson of Ravenna and Brian (Rachael) Hudson of Sau Paulo, Brazil; six great-grandchildren—Laynee, Hank, Kade, Pete, Finn and Grace.
