Richard Gene Isackson, 86 - May 06, 2014Richard Gene Isackson, 86, of Brady passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Services were conducted at the Evangelical Free Church on Monday, May 12, with the Rev. Ken Sawyer officiating. Interment was at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Isackson was born Oct. 26, 1927, at the Isackson farm home in Wild Horse Valley to Anton and Adena (Larson) Isackson. He attended Spannuth grade school and graduated from Brady High School in 1945. He was the last remaining member of his class.
He married Maxine Bridgman in 1961 at the First Methodist Church in North Platte. To this union, two sons were born.
Isackson had spent all of his life farming and ranching in the Wild Horse Valley area.
He was a member of Svea Dal Church located in the valley as well as a member of the Elks and the American Legion.
Isackson was an avid Husker fan and enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife and took pride in his cattle, according to family members.
?He was preceded in death by: his parents, Anton and Adena; his brother, Elmer Wayne; a nephew, Steve Kirk.
?Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Maxine; his sons—Randall (Dee) of Gothenburg and Scott of Overton; three grandchildren—Zane (Julie) of Gibbon, Bryce of Omaha and Katrina (Brandon) Carter of Gothenburg; four great-grandchildren—Tessa and Claire Carter, and Caleb and Landon Isackson; numerous nieces and nephews.
