LaVerne Cyriacks Fitzgerald, 92 - April 10, 2013LaVerna G. Cyriacks Fitzgerald, 92, of Parker, CO, originally of Gothenburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
At her request, she was cremated and there will be a graveside service at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gothenburg on June 15, at 10:30 a.m. A celebration of life event will be conducted at the Gothenburg Senior Center at 1 p.m.
Fitzgerald was born at Adams on Jan. 21, 1921, the daughter of Evert Jann (John) Parde and Thalena (Lena) Alvine Holz.
She was married to Bruno Albert John Cyriacks on Dec. 17, 1940. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1966.
On May 22, 1970, she was united in marriage to Roland Fitzgerald, who preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1979.
Fitzgerald spent most of her life on the family farm in Gothenburg, and later living in Cozad, Denver, CO, and Las Vegas, NV.
She was a woman of strong Christian faith and lived a full life, family members said. She loved to crochet, play cards, cook, play bingo and sew, making quilted lap blankets for nursing homes.
Fitzgerald was preceded in death by: her mother and father, Evert and Thalena; four brothers—John Parde, Albert Parde, Marvin Parde and Leonard Parde of Adams; her first husband, Bruno; second husband, Roland.
Survivors include: her daughters—Annette (Robert) Hollowell of Colorado and Evaline (Jim) Landry of Illinois; a son, John (Vicki) Cyriacks of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren—Jalene Ruelas, Randall Hollowell, Michelle Yaeger, Denise Rowan, Rhonda Swanson, James E. Landry, Jonathan Cyriacks, Anthony Cyriacks and Aaron Cyriacks; 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
