Both filed this past week for the east-ward council seat occupied by Tim Strauser.

Strauser has not indicated whether he plans to re-seek the position.

A west-ward council seat, occupied by Jeff Whiting, is also open and is the seat of mayor Joyce Hudson.

Incumbents have until Feb. 18 to file for office while challengers must meet a March 3 deadline.
