Brady loses third straight in triangular at Sandhills
Eagles focused on their own side of the net
The Eagle volleyball team played in a triangular at Sandhills/Thedford Oct. 29 and lost matches against Ansley-Litchfield and the host Knights.
Warriors sweep Brady
Brady started the triangular against No. 3-ranked Ansley-
Litchfield and lost in two sets—25-19, 25-12.
Eagles head coach Lynne Johnson said the girls have just been playing flat the last couple of matches and aren’t communicating well.
Carissa Rayburn had a team high with seven points going a perfect 10-10 from the service line.
However, Brady’s offensive attack was kept at bay as Valerie Most led the team with four kills.
“The girls just weren’t clicking with each other like usual,” Johnson said.
Knights beat Brady, again
For the second time in a week Sandhills/Thedford and Brady met on the court.
The Knights beat Brady in two sets 25-22, 25-22 and the Eagles losing streak extended to three matches.
Brady used a balanced attack as seven girls recorded a kill, led by seniors Valerie Most and Madison Elliot with five each.
“These last few games we’ve just been struggling to win,” Johnson said. “Most of our stuff we are doing isn’t terrible. We just aren’t winning.”
Brady had a long week to prepare for the district tournament and used it to focus on themselves.
“We didn’t prepare a lot for who we play,” Johnson said. “It was more of how we can play, and getting us back into a rhythm.”
Brady has a record of 20-6 and was the No. 2 seed in the district D1-11 tournament Monday and Tuesday in Gothenburg.
