The Nebraska School Activities Association has announced 13 Gothenburg High School students as recipients of 2009 fall Academic All- State Awards.

This NSAA program recognizes school-nominated student-athletes and activity participants with a minimum grade point average of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.

Gothenburg students who were recognized include:

Boys cross country—Christopher Block and Joshua Clark

Girls cross country—Ashlee Bruntz and Morgan Kowalewski

Football—Landen Haake and Mark Hilderbrand

Girls golf—Jourdan Mat-thies

Softball—Vanessa Linegar and Breanne Messersmith

Volleyball—McKenzie Geiken and Janae Wiggins

Play production—Brennan Costello and Kelsey Houchin
