What does the birth of Jesus mean to you?
Ah! Christmas time—the snow, delicious goodies that are only made this time of the year, friends and family to enjoy the memories and make new ones, and the birth of a Savior that made it all possible!
Have you ever thought of it in those terms? I mean, what would this time of the year be like if the birth of Jesus were not part of the equation? Santa is nice, but even the very essence of Mr. Clause—giving—has its roots in the birth of our Savior.
The angel made a profound statement that first Christmas when he said, “I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”
The birth of Jesus brings joy to the season and to the world, for He is the only one who brings peace to human hearts. It is this concept of peace in one’s heart that has changed the course of humankind, and it all began with the birth of Jesus!
The Apostle Paul spoke well of this peace when he declared it was a peace that surpasses all understanding, that it can guard our hearts and minds—in Christ Jesus.
Dear friend, I do not know how your year has been, I do not know the joys you have experienced nor the sorrows you have endured, but this one thing I do know for sure—Jesus Christ came into this world so that you may experience a deep-seated joy and revolutionary peace that cannot be found anywhere on this earth.
It is my earnest prayer for you that you would invite Jesus into your heart and experience what the angels boldly proclaimed, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace to men on whom His favor rests.” For the Lord Almighty has given us His Son, born in a manger, stripped of all heavenly glory, so that you and I would be able to relate to Him, that we would know the true meaning of contentment in all circumstances.
Dear ones, Jesus is the hope of all glory! Invite Jesus to you home and heart this Christmas and experience what the birth means to you!
