Softball with a message

ANGELS COMPETE: The Gothenburg Angels 18 and under team honored the memory of a softball player who was killed in an accident when they played in the 2nd Annual taP (The Alexis Pro) Tournament June 28-30 in Palmyra. The tournament was played in honor of Alexis Calfee, a softball player from Palmyra, who along with her boyfriend, Chris Oberg, were killed by a drunk driver on Sept. 9, 2011. TAP brings awareness to the danger of drunk driving and how designated drivers should be treated as heroes. Players received the message that all it takes is for one person to make a difference and potentially save a life. “Spread the word, take your turn, TAP you’re it.” Gothenburg finished third in the tournament.
