Chemigation training set for multiple locations
The Nebraska Chemigation Law requires anyone applying fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides through an irrigation system to pass a test. UNL Extension offers a number of opportunities for training and testing, said Extension Educator Alan Corr.
Certification sessions scheduled in the area include:
Tuesday, Feb. 5—1 p.m. at the Dawson County Extension Office in Lexington
Thursday, Feb. 28—1 p.m. at the Phelps County Extension Office in Holdrege
Thursday, March 7—1 p.m. at the Buffalo County Extension Office in Kearney
On the day of the training session, participants who are recertifying are asked to bring the Chemigation Training Manual and Calibration Workbook. Participants certifying for the first time will receive the manual and workbook. Everyone is asked to bring a calculator to use during the training. The session will take approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours. There is no charge for the training or the manuals.
Non-certified and recertifying Dawson County irrigators may attend the training and testing session of their choice, said Corr. For more information, contact the Dawson County Extension Office at 308-324-5501.
