Leadership recognized in adults, students

The 2010-11 Dawson Area Development Leadership Class hosted a Leadership Recognition Night March 15 at the Monsanto Water Utilization Learning Center in Gothenburg.

The goal of this event was to recognize both adult and student leaders across the Dawson County area for their efforts to go above and beyond and make students aware of the opportunities that await them in Dawson County.

“It was amazing to see how the Leadership Recognition Night came together,” said Anne Eilers, DAD Leadership Class member. “It shows what can happen when you take the minds of the DAD Leadership group and allow them to ‘brain storm about a project.’

“The purpose of this event was to showcase the opportunities that are available and the benefits that can be achieved by bringing young people and their careers back to their local home town roots. Allowing this to happen is advantageous to the survival of our home town communities.”

DAD Leadership class members welcomed attendees and introduced the adult leaders representing each community. A meal was then served, followed by the keynote speaker and student certificate presentations.
