Eagles down Cowboys in OT, earn most wins in decade
After stomping Hyannis at home Friday night and a three-hour bus ride into the Sandhills Saturday afternoon, Brady basketball coach Rich Britten wasn’t sure what to expect from his boys on the court at Cody-Kilgore.
The Cowboys handled the Eagles in Brady the previous week in the Sandhills Conference consolation game but Britten said he knew the Eagles were fired up and ready to avenge that loss.
“We played well against Hyannis,” Britten said of Friday’s 60-28 win. “We didn’t have to spend everything we had so I was hoping that high energy would carry over.”
It carried over right into a thrilling 61-54 overtime win against the Cowboys.
The Eagles struggled a bit in the first quarter as they fell behind 5-0 before pulling together to end the period trailing 14-9.
Brady took the lead in the second quarter, heading into halftime with a slight 27-26 advantage.
