Swedes get Homecoming victory over rival Haymakers

With the evening a little cooler, the sun devoured by clouds and rain showering the field and anybody outside, a game was set to be played. This is one of the most anticipated games by not only the players and coaches, but also the fans. The rival Haymakers were in town to face the Swedes last Friday evening. After a long, physical battle, an extra point kicked off of Mark Ackerman’s foot, turned out to be the difference in the game, giving the Swedes a 7-6 victory.

After a short delay to the start of the game, due to lightning, Cozad came out and found early success as they were able to march down the field. The Haymakers would score the first touchdown of the game, and went for two points, but were shut down by Gothenburg’s defense.
