Swede softball kicks off the fall season

The new school year is upon us. Right from the get go the Swede Softball team isn’t wasting any time starting their season as they have a home game against McCook on Friday.

The school year is not the only thing that is new. Coach Maggie Tiller takes over as the head coach for the 2017 season. She has been with the softball program for nine years as an assistant coach. Tiller will have help from assistant coaches, Karlie Nielsen, Corey Beachel and Kully Harrison.

The team lost some senior leadership at key positions to graduation, but have a young squad of skilled players that will be expected to fill in and provide speed and talent at those positions. One of the strengths of the Lady Swedes team this year is speed in the outfield and on bases, according to Coach Tiller.
