Swedes earn three state medals; Holley third, Larson fourth, Hotz fifth

OMAHA— Five Swedes were among the 896 participants representing 197 teams at the Nebraska State High School Wrestling Tournament held this past weekend at Century Link Center in Omaha. For two of the Gothenburg wrestlers—Bryce Larson and Trevor Holley—this was their final opportunity to represent GHS on the mat, and both brought home a medal.

Larson made his fourth straight appearance in the state championships and earned his second medal. Holley is also a repeat state tournament participant, having qualified the past three years. This was the first year he medaled—which he says was a goal he set for his senior year.

Sophomore Wyatt Hotz was the third medalist at the state championships.
