Local sisters share more than genetics
Sisters commonly share physical features and characteristics. Some siblings have the same walk, the same laugh or a similar voice. The five Plank sisters are told there is a strong family resemblance; however, three of the sisters also share a disease. Cancer. The community of Gothenburg, and friends of the families, want to help. That is why the sisters have been chosen as the beneficiaries for the 11th annual Endure the Cure co-ed volleyball tournament, taking place Sunday, Dec. 4, in the Gothenburg junior high and senior high gyms. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m., and along with volleyball action will also include lots of great prizes and a raffle. Cost for the tournament is $70 per team, with a limit of 40 teams. Deadline to sign up a team is Dec. 2, and teams can get registered by calling Henry Kirk Vogt at 529-0705 or Jim Macias at 746-3100.
