Vandalism under investigation

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, the staff of the Pony Express Station in Gothenburg notified the Gothenburg Police Department of what appeared to be burn marks on the east side of the building.

The historic Pony Express Station was erected in 1854, and authorities say with the old, dry wood the building could have easily caught fire. The Pony Express Station welcomes about 40,000 visitors per year, and station staff say its loss would be a huge impact to the community
