Mary Phyllis Rimpley, 79 - November 25, 2012Mary Phyllis Rimpley, 79, of Gothenburg passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1915 Ave. J, Gothenburg, on Friday, Nov. 30, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Don O’Brien officiating. Interment will be at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Rosary will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Gothenburg.
A visitation will be at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rimpley was born July 12, 1933, at Ogallala, daughter of Phil and Loretta K. (Erthum) Gaudreault.
She grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High in 1952. She resided at Cozad, Lexington and Gothenburg.
On May 28, 1955, she was united in marriage to Clayton “Rimp” Rimpley at North Platte. To this union, three sons were born.
Rimpley was employed as a Mary Kay representative and as a physical therapist aide.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and the Altar Society and served as Diocesan Council of Catholic Women parish representative at all levels. She was also active in Catholic Encounters in Christ as well as a member of the Red Hatters.
?Rimpley loved her family and enjoyed cooking and traveling, which included Iceland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Hawaii and throughout the United States.
?She was preceded in death by: her husband, Clayton “Rimp” Rimpley; her parents, Phil and Loretta Gaudreault; brothers—Dave Gaudreault and Terry Hastings; a sister, LaRae Gaudreault; brothers-in-law—Lee Beardsley, Milton Ross and Delbert Ballard.
Survivors include: her three sons—Kirk Rimpley of Auburn, WA, Kevin (Pam) Rimpley of Kearney and Kyle (Tina) Rimpley of Cozad; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters—Marjorie Ballard of Gothenburg and Kay Beardsley of Sterling, CO; three brothers—Daniel (Barbara) Gaudreault of Elizabeth, CO, Nick Gaudreault of Sterling and Ted (Diane) Gaudreault of Gothenburg; a sister-in-law, Bobbi Gaudreault of Gothenburg; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
