Kathleen Joy Meredith, 62 - October 22, 2012Kathleen Joy Meredith, 62, of Gothenburg passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at her home in Gothenburg.
Services will be conducted at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg on Friday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating.
A visitation will take place at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Meredith was born Sept. 16, 1950, at Gothenburg, daughter of Edwin “Bud” and Kathryn Joy (Doukus) Lindstedt.
She resided at Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska She was employed as a cook at Slack’s Nursing Home, as a waitress, at Monroe’s and as a deli cook at Wal-Mart.
On Nov. 29, 1990, she was united in marriage to Roger Roy Meredith at Gothenburg.
She was a member of Theta Rho, the Girl Scouts, Elks Club, Relay for Life and the Nebraska Kidney Association.
Meredith enjoyed college, crocheting, reading, computers and spending time with family, according to family members.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Bud and Kate Lindstedt; grandparents—John and Minnie Doukus and Alfred and Clara Lindstedt.
Survivors include: her husband, Roger; daughter, Angela (James) Bowyer; three sons—Victor (Sandra) Bevard, Jr., Joseph (Holly) Bevard and Edwin (Kim) McDonald; three step-sons—Ryan (Cheri) Meredith, Scott (Becki) Meredith and Kenny (Dawn) Meredith; a sister, Bonnie (Marvin) Howell; brother, Kent Lindstedt; 16 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
