Jacqueline Bodfield, 69 - February 07, 2012
Jacqueline Jean “Jackie” Hayworth Bodfield, 69, of Central City and formerly of Gothenburg, died at the Central City Care Center on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012.
Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 13, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Larry Viter officiating at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
Bodfield was born on June 22, 1942, in Gothenburg to Harold and Hazel (Bringelson) Hayworth. She was raised in Gothenburg and attended school there until moving with her family to Hershey when she was in high school. Following her graduation in 1962 from Hershey High School, the family returned to Gothenburg.
On Jan. 17, 1966, she was united in marriage to Richard L. “Butch” Bodfield. The couple lived in Greeley, CO, for one year and then spent their married life in Gothenburg.
Bodfield worked at the Buffalo Cafe, the Legion Club, Randazzle Cafe and the Dollar General, all in Gothenburg; and she worked at the Elks Club and Monroe Auto Equipment, both in Cozad. She retired from Monroe in 2004 and she moved to Central City Care Center in December of 2011 to be near her daughter.
?She was a member of the Eagle’s Club. She enjoyed bingo, going to garage sales and visiting with people, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren, her family said.
?Bodfield was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Hazel Hayworth; her husband, Butch on July 2, 1996; a brother, Larry Hayworth; and infant sister, Charlotte Hayworth.
Survivors include: daughter Sheila and Kip Lenhart of Central City; son Kevin Bodfield of Gothenburg; sister Sandra Hayworth of Gothenburg; nine grandchildren—Sonja Johnson, Lance Bodfield, Johnathan Bodfield, Kameron Lenhart, Amanda Bodfield, Jacqueline Bodfield, Kolby Lenhart, Jacob Bodfield and Jessica Bodfield; and one great granddaughter, Nevaeh Bodfield.
Solt Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of the arrangements.
