Maxine Hendrickson, 87 - January 07, 2012


Mary ‘Maxine’ Hendrickson, 87, of Stapleton, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Premier Estates in North Platte.
Visitation will be 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, and 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore which is in charge of arrangements.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore with Marcia Dorn of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.
Hendrickson was born Aug. 20, 1924, at Brady to Nick and Grace Henrietta Feather Camblin and was baptized in the Methodist Church. She grew up in the Brady area and graduated from Brady High School in 1942.
On June 20, 1942, she married Robert Dillon Hendrickson and they made their home in the Wild Horse Valley north of Brady. In 1957, they moved to North Platte and then to Stapleton in 1979.
Hendrickson worked for W.T. Grants in North Platte and was a sales rep for Royal Neighbors of America. She later had a painting and wallpapering business.
She loved to play cards. She was an excellent seamstress and did all kinds of needle work, family members said. She designed and needle pointed a square of Lincoln County which is part of the state wall hanging displayed in the state capitol. She had been a member of the Stationette Extension Club and was part of the Lunch Bunch for many years.
Hendrickson was preceded in death by: her parents, Nick and Grace Camblin; five sisters—Elizabeth Moore, Evelyn Vandarplas, Darlyne King, Bernice Schields and Gladys VonBehren; two brothers—Allison “Bud” and Nick “Tuffy” Camblin; and a grandson, Scott Johnson.
She is survived by: her husband of 69 years, Robert, of Stapleton; three daughters—Mary (Jerry) Johnson, Nickette “Nicki” Evans and Betty Bierbach, all of North Platte; three grandchildren—Jill (Eric) Hansen, Jason Evans and Read (Elizabeth) Bierbach; four great-grandchildren—Morgan, Kaitlyn, Emily and Bella; a brother, Robert Camblin, of California; many nieces, nephews and other family.
Memorials are suggested to the Stapleton Fire Department.
