Dora Connelly, 86 - September 30, 2011
Dora Opal Connelly, 86, of Gothenburg, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, in Gothenburg.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with the Rev. Don O’Brien officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gaslin Cemetery, Brady.
Connelly was born Sept. 19, 1925, in North Platte, the daughter of Arthur and Ruth (McClellen) Carver.
She grew up in the hills south of Brady, and attended schools in Brady and North Platte. She married Albert Connelly on Aug. 10, 1942, at Oberlin, KS.
Connelly enjoyed cooking, holiday decorations, traditional time with family and having coffee with her girls, family members said. She was the past president of Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Pony Express Ramrodders.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are: her husband Albert Leo Connelly of Gothenburg; daughters Mary (Craig) Finke of Gothenburg and Geraldine (Alan) Ditson of Overton; six grandchildren—Virginia Kipp, Trish Bennett, Robert (Debbie) Ditson, Adam (Deanna) Finke, Annie (George) Cornwell and Anthony Finke; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; along with many extended family and friends.
