Doris Axthelm, 91 - April 22, 2011
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Douglas A. Delp officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Peckham Cemetery south of Gothenburg.
Visitation is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore.
Axthelm was born Feb. 14, 1920, to Gust F. and Ellen C. Gustafson Anderson, north of Gothenburg where she grew up with her sister.
Axthelm was preceded in death by: her husband, Cecil; her parents, Gust and Ellen Anderson; a sister, Jeanette Miller; daughter-in-law, Deborah Barber Axthelm; granddaughter, Donnie Kay Farr.
Survivors include: her three sons—Michael Axthelm of Hillsboro, OR, Timothy (Mary) Axthelm of North Platte, and Mark (Steph) Axthelm of Gothenburg; her daughter, Kylie (David) Young of Jefferson City, MO; nine grandchildren—Fred Farr, Jamie (Jo Ellen) Axthelm, Jason (Sharon) Axthelm, Jenny (Steve) Skupa, Bradley (Sarah) Axthelm, Ian Young, Isaac Axthelm, Carson Young and Aaron Axthelm; 11 great-grandchildren—Shane (Susie) Farr, Chris Farr, Mackenzie Skupa, Alexa Axthelm, Rodger Farr, Sydney Skupa, Case Axthelm, Kate Axthelm, Abbie Skupa, Ander Axthelm and Tristan Axthelm; two nephews—Greg and Steve Miller; special friends—Mike and Sally Ponte and Toni Dutton; numerous other relatives.
