Casey Goodwin, 27 - September 02, 2009
Casey Lee Goodwin, 27, of Gothenburg died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Gothenburg.
Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating. Burial was at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Goodwin was born March 10, 1982, to Charles and Judy (Bauer) Goodwin at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. He has spent his entire life in Gothenburg and attended Gothenburg Public Schools.
On April 20, 2007, he was united in marriage to Susan Maack at Deadwood, SD.
He was employed as a hired hand for various farmers throughout out the area.
Goodwin enjoyed spending time with his son as well as hunting and fishing, according to family members.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Charles Evertt Goodwin; maternal grandparents, Conrad and Opal Bauer; paternal grandparents, Claren and Elizabeth Goodwin.
Survivors include: his wife, Susan of Gothenburg; his son, Hunter of Gothenburg; a brother, Chad Bauer of Gothenburg; sisters—Jill (Joe) Myer of Cozad and Becky (Ryan) Kort of Gothenburg; nephews—Dalton, Jacob, Austin and Riley; nieces—Dalcy, Jordan and Brenna; step-son, Kaleb Stanton; step-daughter, Kristian Stanton; step-brothers—Troy, Jason and Greg Maurer and families; step-grandmother, Edna Maurer; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials are suggested to the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department, 602 10th St., Gothenburg, NE 69138.
