Norma Jensen, 74 - May 02, 2007
Services were held on Saturday, April 28, at the First Presbyterian Church of Gothenburg with the Rev. Matt Coplen officiating.
Jensen was born on Dec. 6, 1932, at Gothenburg to Harold and Ruth Owings Wilbourn.
She grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1951. She was the second of four generations to graduate from Gothenburg High School.
Following her high school graduation, she moved to Ogden, UT, and worked in the offices of Pacific Fruit Express, a subsidiary of Union Pacific Railroad.
?On June 11, 1954, she was united in marriage to Gale V. Jensen at the First Presbyterian Church of Gothenburg. To this union, two children were born.
Jensen was employed at Peterson’s Supermarket, working there for 29 years until her retirement on April 1, 1988.
?She enjoyed reading, traveling and attending the activities of her children and grandchildren as well as baking and cooking for family gatherings, according to family members.
?Jensen was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruth.
?Survivors include: her husband, Gale of 52 years; a daughter, Theresa (Rodney) Brooks of Gothenburg; a son, Allen (Karla) Jensen of Gothenburg; a sister, Janet (Jerry) Payne of Tipton, GA; five grandchildren—Julie (Radley) Breuer and Briana Brooks, both of Lincoln, Archer, Grant and Savannah Jensen, all of Gothenburg.
Memorials are suggested to Central Plains Home Health and Hospice and the First Presbyterian Church of Gothenburg.
