Tucker Jenkins, 15 - October 17, 2007
Tucker “Tuck” Wayne Jenkins, 15, of Sidney, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at his home.
Services were held on Monday, Oct. 15, at the First United Methodist Church at Sidney with the Rev. Dr. Charles Alkula officiating. Cremation followed with inurnment to be held at a later date.
Jenkins was born on Nov. 25, 1991, at Sidney, the son of Greg and Marcy (Dickenson) Jenkins.
He attended schools in Sidney and was a sophomore at Sidney High School where he was a member of the basketball team, which he not only enjoyed but also had a gift for the sport, according to family members. He also spent a lot of time at the community center where lifting weights became a passion as well as hanging out with friends.
Jenkins had many favorite pastimes ranging from football to movies. He especially enjoyed the Michigan blue and gold, said family members.
He enjoyed the outdoors and going on many trips with his dad hunting and camping, and going four-wheeling with his mom and sister.
Jenkin’s style was truly always his own, from his dress, laugh, sense of humor and expressions of love, affection, dreams and lifestyle as well as who he was and who he could have been, the family said.
?He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack Jenkins.
?Survivors include: his parents, Greg and Marcy Jenkins of Sidney; his sister, Kaylee Jenkins of Sidney; grandparents—Wayne and Gwen Dickenson of North Platte and Dorys (Al) Roach of Gothenburg; great-grandmother, Blanche Howitt of Sidney; four aunts—Roselyn (Preston) Polk of Jackson, MS, Christine Banowetz of Lonetree, CO, Ramona Jenkins of Warner Robins, GA, and Laurie (Mike) Viter of Gothenburg; three uncles—David Dickenson and George (Tammy) Jenkins, all of North Platte, and Ken Jenkins of Grand Island; numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the First National Bank in Sidney.
