Luanne Kelsey, 59 - December 19, 2007
Luanne M. (Williams) Kelsey, 59, of Surprise, AZ, formerly of Cozad, died Dec. 14, 2007, at Surprise after a long battle with cancer.
Memorial services were held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Radiant Church at Surprise. Inurnment will take place at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery at Mesa, AZ.
Kelsey was born on Feb. 5, 1948, at Lexington to Charlie C. and Evelyn E. (Fagot) Williams.
She attended St. Ann’s Catholic School where she graduated in 1966, and attended college in Greeley, CO, for a short time before returning to Cozad.
While in Cozad, she was employed by her parents at the Circle S Restaurant for many years. In 1986, she moved to Phoenix, AZ, where she owned and operated her own housekeeping service for a short period. She later engaged in the hospitality industry which she continued until her death.
Kelsey enjoyed reading, watching sports, working crossword puzzles and especially playing cards with her family, according to family members.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Charlie and Evelyn; a sister-in-law; and one brother-in-law.
?Survivors include: two sons—Tad (Rhonda) Kelsey of Phoenix and Charles “Chuck” (Jo) Kelsey of Surprise; five sisters—Teresa “Peri” (Ed) Rupe of Eustis, Janet “Jackie” Illian of Clay Center, Gina (Ted) Majewski of Cottonwood, AZ, Renae (Doug) Rowe of Cozad and Lisa (Terry) Loftis of Cave Creek, AZ; three brothers—Dennis “Denny” (Patty) Williams of Phoenix, George Williams of Cozad and Mark (Jeannie) Williams of Phoenix; eight grandchildren—Hannah, Samantha, Trevor, Lisa, Ashleigh, Michael, Kyra and Noah.
A memorial has been established.
