Ileen Miller, 85 - February 06, 2008
Ileen Blanche Miller, 85, of Stanton died on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at the Stanton Health Center.
Memorial services will be Thursday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the New England Congregational Church United Church of Christ in Stanton.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. till service time at the church. Burial will be in the Davenport Cemetery in Davenport at 3:30 p.m.
Miller was born May 15, 1922, at Elk City, OK, to James and Lillie (Campbell) Snyder. She attended Davenport Public School and graduated from Davenport High School. She attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont and later graduated from the Lincoln Beauty College.
She worked as a beautician and later worked at a bomber plant during World War II. In July of 1943, she was united in marriage to Harold L. Baker. She and Reinhold Miller were married in January of 1947. After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in different communities in western Nebraska before settling in Wisner in 1957.
They had also resided in Wakefield before retiring at Comstock. Reinhold passed away on April 25, 2006.
Miller was currently a member of the New England Congregational Church United Church of Christ in Stanton. Some of her hobbies included gardening, tending to her flowers, crocheting and cooking. She loved her animals, especially her Boston bull terriers and birds, according to the family, and enjoyed playing the piano.
Miller was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandchildren and three sisters-Delores, Carma, and Lila.
Survivors include: children Cheryl and Lyle Husmann of Pilger, Linda and Ron Grace of Fallbrook, CA, Dallas and Precy Miller of Stanton and Lynette Larson-Campbell of Norfolk; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
