Maurice Bill Widick, 96 - February 13, 2008
Graveside services were held Monday, Feb. 11, at the Farnam Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating. Burial took place at the Farnam Cemetery.
Widick was born Feb. 7, 1912, at Smithfield to Grover C. and Myrtle Rose (Clayton) Widick. He grew up in the Smithfield and Farnam areas and attended those schools. He graduated from Farnam High School.
He resided in the Farnam/Moorefield area where he farmed and worked in the trucking industry. He also spent several years in Wyoming.
Widick was united in marriage to Mildred M. Devine at North Platte on May 1, 1936. To this union, five sons were born.
He was a member of the Free Masons since 1945.
Widick was preceded in death by: his wife, Mildred of 52 years in 1988; his parents, Grover and Myrtle; two sons—Gene in Vietnam and Kent due to a farming accident; two brothers and wives; a sister and husband; brother-in-law; daughter-in-law, Madie.
?Survivors include: his sons—Ralph (Bobbi) of Farnam, Bruce (Marsha) of Malcolm and Frank (Cheryl) of Moorefield; a brother, Orvale (Barbara) of Farnam; sister-in-law, Leila Gruber of Gothenburg; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchilden and a great-great-grandchild; numerous extended family and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.
