Nola Wahlgren, 88 - May 21, 2008


Nola Wahlgren, 88, of Gothenburg died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital Long-Term Care unit.
Services will be held Saturday, May 24, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 1002 Ave. C, Gothenburg, with the Rev. Tom Rempel officiating. Burial will take place at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 1-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Friday, May 23, with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg. A time of sharing memories is scheduled for 7-8 p.m. on Friday.
Wahlgren was born March 27, 1920, at Gothenburg to Ira and Pearl (Grady) McPheeters. She grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School 1938.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Gothenburg, taught Sunday School and led a ladies Bible study in her home for over two decades. She was also an active member of the community, involved in the Extension club, the Hospital Auxiliary, 4-H, Bloodmobile, Meals On Wheels and more.
Wahlgren was a supportive and loving wife of 50 years, and a gracious, nurturing and prayerful mother and grandmother, according to family members. She was honored as a “Mother of the Year” in 1979.
?She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 1991, granddaughter Cindy (Mrs. Jeff Ristine), great grandson Connor Goode and sister Nina Rummel.
?Survivors include: her four children—Floyd (Marcy) of Gothenburg, Dale (Cheryln) of North Platte, Connie (Carl) Spence of Papillion and Roger (Carol) of Gothenburg; 11 grandchildren—Lorri, Lisa, Daniel, Kristi, Joe, Charles, Robyn, Ross, Michael, Karrie and Shannon, and their spouses; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Burton (Betty) McPheeters of Gothenburg; numerous nieces and nephews
Memorials are suggested to Table in the Wilderness Ministry, a camp ministry of Dan Wahlgren, KJLT Radio and the First Baptist Church.
