Mark McNeal, 47 - May 28, 2008
Services were held on Friday, May 23, at the chapel of Solt Funeral Home in Central City with Calvin Burrell officiating and Kevin Lewin assisting.
McNeal was born on May 24, 1960, at Central City to Harvey M. and Lola M. (Meier) McNeal. He grew up in the Clarks area and attended school there through the tenth grade.
He graduated from Spring Vale Academy at Owosso, MI, in 1978, and then went on to Central Community College in Columbus to become a trained mechanic.
McNeal was employed at McGuinn’s Garage in Clarks and for Dan McClure in Central City as a mechanic. He also farmed in the Central City area. In the late 1980’s, he went to Gothenburg to farm and he also sold scrap iron.
He was a member of the Church of God Seventh Day.
?McNeal enjoyed science fiction movies, antiques, old cars and machinery as well as attending auctions, and as a young boy, enjoyed hunting, according to family members.
?He was preceded in death by: his grandparents—Warren and Ruth McNeal and Carl and Evelyn Meier; two uncles—Dave Gardner and Lawrence Meier.
Survivors include: his parents, Harvey and Lola McNeal of Clarks; four sisters—Karen McKinley of Blue Springs, MO, Linda (Bruce) Michalak of Fort Lupton, CO, Sylvia (Jerry Jerome of Walker, IA, and Janet (Michael) Smith of Conroe, TX; 13 nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles—Ron and Beverly McNeal of Ralston, Marjorie and Melvin Seek of Fort Collins, CO, John and Audrey Holland of Theodosia, MO, Nora Gardner of Littleton, CO, and Alice Meier of Aberdeen, SD.
