Eunice Wescoat, 75 - August 06, 2008
Eunice Ann (Kranau) Wescoat, 75, of Gothenburg, formerly of Lexington, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Hilltop Estates of Gothenburg.
Services were held on Thursday, July 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Lexington with the Rev. Michael Gruhn officiating. Burial took place at the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
Wescoat was born on Jan. 10, 1933, at Blue Hill to Gustav Adolph Leopold and Anna Emma (Buss) Kranau. She was baptized Jan. 28, 1933, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill.
She attended parochial school at Trinity Lutheran in Blue Hill, and was confirmed in 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church. She graduated from Blue Hill High School with the Class of 1950.
On May 12, 1955, she was united in marriage to Alvin Wescoat at Phillipsburg, KS. To this union, three children were born.
Wescoat enjoyed being with family and friends, she was a loving, caring mother and wife, and her grandchildren were a true joy to her in many ways, giving them nicknames as each were born, according to family members.
She also enjoyed many crafts, doing and teaching them as well as enjoying crocheting, embroidery, sewing, growing flowers and gardening, said family members.
Wescoat was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Gustav and Anna; her husband, Alvin in 2002; brothers—Edgar and Marvin Kranau.
Survivors include: her son, David Wescoat of Alda; her two daughters—Vera (Lonnie) McIntosh of Grand Island, and Sherry (Merlin) Thaden of Lexington; a brother, Vernon (Gail) Kranau of Hastings; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
