Bonnie Coleman, 81 - September 16, 2009
Services were held Sept. 16 at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel at Gothenburg with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating. Burial was at the Gaslin Cemetery.
Coleman was born on Nov. 4, 1927, to Harlow and Loye (George) White at Arcadia. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1946.
On Jan. 27, 1951, she was united in marriage to Albert Coleman at hers parents’ home in North Platte. To this union, three daughters were born.
She was employed as an insurance agent for many years and was a 4-H leader and served on the 4-H Council. She was also sexton of the Gaslin Cemetery and was active with the World War II canteen and the WIFE organization.
Coleman most enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren as well as enjoying bowling, crossword puzzles and her coffee, according to family members.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Harlow and Loye; her husband, Albert Coleman; a daughter, Mary Lee Coleman; great-granddaughter, Jenna Max.
Survivors include: her two daughters—Deb (Dan) Christensen of Brady and Rae Ann (Mark) Gronewold of Griswold, IA; six grandchildren—Shelly (Scott) Godbey, Missy (Ken) Baye, Megan (Corey) Leiberth, Matt (Rachel) Christensen, Jake Gronewold and Joel Gronewold; six great grandchildren: Jamie, Jordan, Madison, Dawson, Hanna and Hallie; four great-grandchildren—Jamie, Jordan, Madison and Dawson; two great-great-grandchildren—Justina and Skylar; a sister, Jean Stark of North Platte; nieces—Pam Wescoat and Lisa Wescoat.
Memorials are suggested to the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital Foundation, 910 20th St., Gothenburg, NE 69138 and Maranatha Bible Camp, 16800 E. Maranatha Rd., Maxwell, NE 69151.
