Edith Bodfield, 76 - February 18, 2009
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating.
Visitation was at 12 noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel.
Burial will be at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Bodfield was born on July 22, 1932 at Gothenburg to Walter E. and Hilma (Monson) Larson. She grew up and attended schools at Gothenburg.
Bodfield lived in Fort Morgan, CO, from 1956 to 1959. She also lived in Erie, CO, from 1965 to 1969. She married Richard D. Bodfield in 1969 at Lexington.
She retired from Monroe Auto Equipment in 1995 after working there for 20 years. She loved to crochet, read, bake, and work crossword puzzles, family members said.
Bodfield was preceded in death by: her parents; 3 sisters—Ellen, Esther and Ruth; three brothers—Milford, Carl and Leonard; her husband; and grandson Robert Michael Bodfield.
?Survivors include: her son James D. Burk of Cozad; six daughters—Linda (Paul) Treffer of Lexington; Janice (John) Scott of Lexington; Dianne (Larry) Keller of Uniontown, OH; Mary (Mark) Davis of Grand Island; Kathy (Jeff) Stevenson of Lexington; Beth (Kevin) Hanrahan of Omaha; along with 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Gillian Barre Foundation, the National Arthritis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
