Lonnie McClellen, 73 - July 24, 2014Lonnie Neil McClellen, 73, of Cozad died Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Haven Home in Kenesaw.
Services were conducted at the Lonestar Cowboy Church on Tuesday, July 29, with Gregg Boller officiating. Burial was at the Farnam Cemetery.
McClellen was born June 9, 1941, at North Plate to Walter Homer and Ila Mable (Daniels) McClellen.
He attended school at Jeffrey Queen south of Brady and attended Gothenburg High School, later attaining his GED.
McClellen married Kathaleen Kay Kotschwar on Aug. 1, 1969, at the First Baptist Church in Gothenburg.
He was a member of the Custer Masonic Lodge 148 and the Tehama Shriner’s.
McClellen loved to collect a variety of things and enjoyed hunting and fishing, according to family members. He and his wife enjoyed going to garage sales, junk jaunts and traveling.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Walter and Ila; a sister, Colleen McClellen; brothers—Merrill McClellen and Lorrin McClellen; cousins—Larry Page and Frances Brown.
Survivors include: his wife, Kathaleen McClellen of Cozad; his sons—Timothy Neil (Frances) McClellen of Gothenburg, Lonnie Neil (Karen) McClellen of Olathe, KS, and Clyde Daniels “Mac” (Maggie) McClellen of Farnam; his daughter, Nyla Kayleen McClellen of Minden; grandchildren—Travis James McClellen and Megan Elizabeth (Josh) Sitorius, all of Ogallala, McKenzie Siann Czaplewski, McKayla Kayleen Czaplewski and Traelin James Christensen, all of Minden, Keegan Neil McClellen and Griffin Lee McClellen of Olathe; great-grandchildren—Chandler Timothy Sitorius and Lorelie Jo Sitorius; brothers—Lysle (Velma) McClellen of Elm Creek and Burnell (Sonda) McClellen of Brady; cousin, Leon Page of Waverly.
