Nelva Jean Scheer, 82 - May 03, 2013Nelva Jean Scheer, 82, of Gothenburg, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
Memorial services are scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 4325 Sumner St. in Lincoln with the Rev. Luke Schnake officiating. Interment will be conducted prior to the memorial service at Fairview Cemetery at Lincoln.
Scheer was born Oct. 22, 1930, at Sterling to Henry and Lena (Schmidt) Christline.
She married Dale Scheer on May 18, 1952. The couple were lifetime residents of Lincoln until she moved to Gothenburg in 2009.
Scheer was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, family members said.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Dale in 2002; her parents; four brothers and sisters—Delmar Christline, Esther Christline, Belden (Dorothy) Christline and Adelaide (Roland) Hopmann.
Survivors include: her three children—Dennis (Vicki) Scheer of Lincoln, Cindy (Brian) Jackson of Minneapolis, MN, and Jan (Ernie) Blecha of Gothenburg; seven grandchildren—Sarah (Jason) Borchers, John (Heather) Blecha, Joanna Blecha, Mark Scheer, Michael Scheer, Sam Jackson and Naomi Jackson; a great-grandchild, Lillian Jean Borchers; sisters-in-laws—Lee Adelle (Jim) Starkey of Hickory Grove, NC, and Patti (Dean) Scheer of Cleveland, OH; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg.
