Do you remember when you dressed up for specific reasons in elementary school?
Why did you dress as you did?
Maybe you dressed up as a doctor, professional athlete or businessman or woman.
Possibly your outfit resembled what your parents did for a living.
Some Dudley Elementary students dressed up like what they wanted to be when they grew up costumes last Wednesday.
In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday March 2, students came to school in different outfits each day.
On March 3 students participated in “silly sock” day, March 4 was “dress like your favorite Dr. Seuss character” day, Thursday was “backwards and inside-out day” and the week wrapped up with pajama and hat day on Friday.
Last Wednesday, first-grader McKinzie Aden dressed up in a cardigan and glasses because she wants to be a high-school teacher.
Rye Tiller wore a colorful lab coat resembling a prestigious scientist. Tiller said he wants to do a lot of experiments.
Claire Vincent dressed in nursing bibs complete with a stethoscope.
Vincent said she wants to be a nurse at the clinic like her mother.
Casey Wahlgren was decked out in camouflage and hunter orange.
He said his family hunts animals and birds and he wants to live in Colorado where he can hunt big game for a living.
First grade tough guys were Conagher Schultz and Zander Hruza also sported costumes.
Schultz, who rocked a flannel shirt, boots and a work-worn cowboy hat, gritted his teeth.
He said he’s a cowboy now but wants to grow up to be a “real” one.
Complete with shoulder pads, a helmet and leg pads, Hruza said he wants to be a professional football player. After playing for the University of
Nebraska, he hopes to play for the Denver Broncos.
