Dawson County is new owner of CED building

Dawson County Commissioners now own a Community Economic Development building in Lexington.

In a meeting Dec. 17, commissioners bought the CED building that was leased to them in July for Health and Human Services offices.

A grant associated with the building was paid off for $95,680, county clerk Karla Zlatkovsky said.

In other business, commissioners approved Dawson Area Development community development coordinator Deb Jensen’s second request for a contract extension on renovations to the Dawson County Historical Museum.

Zlatkovsky said the museum is close to being finished but a few things still need to be done.

The extension was approved until Jan. 31 for bills to be paid and paper work to be completed, Jensen said.

On another matter, county officials salaries were discussed but action was tabled until a commissioner meeting Dec. 31 on which date a resolution will be reached, Zlatkovsky said.

There was supposed to be a workshop Dec. 19 about the salaries but it was cancelled.
