Three Swedes earn all state honors, six named to honorable mention
Three Swedes were recognized as all-state performers for their achievement last fall by the Omaha World-Herald.
Juniors Tiani Reeves and Tanner Borchardt are joined by Senior Trenton Long.
Tiani Reeves, who earned super-state volleyball recognition in the Lincoln Journal Star on Nov. 28 was named to the All-Nebraska all class second team by the World-Herald.
Reeves led the Swedes with 368 kills while collecting 247 digs, 50 blocks and 45 aces.
Junior defensive lineman Tanner Borchardt caused equal problems in the running and passing game of opponents this season.
Borchardt earned all-state Class C-1 honors as an offensive lineman in the Journal Star and as a defensive lineman in the World-Herald with 79 tackles and a number of knocked down passes.
Senior kicker Trenton Long handled the extra points, field goals, punting duties and kickoffs for the Swedes and was named to the all-state Class C-1 team in both newspapers as well as a kicker.
Long, converted 23 PATs and made eight field goals.
Other Swedes recognized were senior volleyball players Aryn Meisinger, Regan Geiken and Taylor Mroczek to all state Class C-1 honorable mention team in both the Journal Star and the World-Herald.
Swede seniors Adam Speck, Blake Ristine and Zach Wolf were recognized as all state Class C-1 honorable mention earners in the World-Herald.
