Village budget, tax levy see small declines
The Village of Brady trustees adopted a budget of $492,000 at a meeting Sept. 11 for 2013-14.
The $492,000 they plan to spend is .02% less than last year.
Last year, the trustees voted and adopted a budget with a 17.3% increase because of an anticipated lagoon project.
Jeff Miller, a trustee, said dropping the levy is a good sign.
The 2013-14 budget is close to what trustees budgeted last year, however, one of the biggest differences is capital expenses in the budget compared to last year.
Last year, $80,000 went toward researching and engineering costs for a lagoon project.
This year, Miller said capital expenses are down because he anticipates the money will go into a bond fund for the lagoon project.
