Two road projects set near Gothenburg
Two Gothenburg area projects are on the fiscal year 2014 construction program by the Nebraska Department of Roads.
Several more in the Gothenburg and Brady area are in the DOR’s five-year planning program.
A seven-mile stretch of Highway 47 going north of Gothenburg to the Custer County line is scheduled for milling and resurfacing at a cost of $3,384,000.
Bridge repair at the Interstate 80-Highway 47 interchange is planned for an estimated cost of $2,639,000.
FY2014 projects will be contracted between July 1, 2013, and June 30, 2014, but may not be completed during that time.
The five-year planning program includes these projects:
Resurfacing of Highway 30 going 11.9 miles west of Gothenburg at a cost of $7,075,000
Resurfacing of Highway 30 for 9.3 miles between Gothenburg and Cozad, $7,541,000
Milling and resurfacing of I80 for 12.7 miles between Brady and Maxwell, $8,600,000
Milling and resurfacing of I-80 going west of Gothenburg 7.1 miles (west bound), $3,468,000
The Nebraska Department of Roads’ (NDOR) Director, Randy Peters, released today the fiscal year 2014 Surface Transportation Program. This publication details how the Department plans to use the taxpayer’s highway user dollars to provide the best state highway system possible for all Nebraskans and the traveling public.
The 2014 State Highway System Program is published at $431 million and is funded from state and federal highway user taxes and fees.
The Local System Program for city streets and county roads totals $312 million and is funded with state, federal and local highway user revenues.
The fiscal year 2014 program is also the first to include projects funded with the Build Nebraska Act.
