New activities during Magic on Main Street
Local residents and others have an opportunity to ring in the holiday season in Gothenburg on Thursday, Dec. 3.

The annual celebration of Holiday Magic on Main Street will follow from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
“Join Santa on the jingle bell parade that leaves Ehmen Park at 5:30 p.m. and visit him at Gothenburg State Bank,” said Joyce Kolbo, Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce administrative assistant.
The Chamber sponsors the event.
Hay rack and fire truck rides will be available as well as entertainment, a nativity scene and drawings for Christmas gift bags downtown.
Home-based businesses will be set up in the Gothenburg Dance Centre from 2-7:30 p.m. and food vendors will be on the streets.
Anyone wanting space for a business or organization or wanting to be part of the entertainment should call Joyce Kolbo at the Chamber at 537-3505.
Those wanting to be part of the entertainment should also call the Chamber.
Before the event, shoppers are encouraged to visit participating businesses and use their receipts to register to be a winner of one of four gift bags.
Each bag valued at $250 includes items from each participating business.
Winners must be present to win and will be announced during 5:30, 6, 6:30 and 7 p.m. drawings.
Receipts are also a local shopper’s registration for drawings for $1,500 in Main Street Bucks to be given away on Friday, Dec. 11.
Winners of Main Street Bucks do not need to be present to win and will be notified.
