FFA’ers earn state degrees
PROFICIENCY AWARDS: Proficiency application awards for six Gothenburg FFA members were sent to the next level of competition in Lincoln for review by the Nebraska FFA Association at District 11 competition recently in McCook. Members whose projects placed at the event include: Dane Wilson, first, and Kyle Demoret, second, diversified agriculture placement; Peyton Maline, second, vegetable production; Kerry McPheeters, first, grain production; Brennan Costello, first, sheep production; and Jourdan Matthies, second, veterinary medicine. Eight members received a state degree at districts in which members have to have more than 300 hours invested and have raised more than $1,000 in their projects. Members also had to complete three years worth of accurate record books, demonstrate leadership ability and attend an agricultural class.
