Teachers share benefits of Wednesday early outs
This school year brought about a scheduling change that may have some parents wondering, “why did they do that?” Each Wednesday students are dismissed at 2:30 p.m. as part of a new program implemented at Gothenburg Public Schools called Professional Learning Community, or PLC.
At the April 4 meeting of the school and community stakeholders group, Allison Jonas explained to those in attendance just what that is. Jonas, who serves as the district’s Director of Teaching Operations, got help from a handful of teachers in explaining how the program works, and most importantly, how it benefits the students.
