GPS student heading to New York City

Being selected to the Carnegie Hall Women’s Choir means more than one could imagine. When Madeline Daup got the email saying that she had been accepted, she said she started crying because she had just spent the last month and a half trying to convince herself that she wouldn’t be accepted. “This is definitely the biggest honor I have received yet,” she said.

Daup, a student at Gothenburg High School, has been selected for the 2018 High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. She will perform as a Soprano in February with the Women’s Honor Choir.

“Participation in one of the five Honors Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated high school performers from across the world,” stated a press release naming the honorees.
