GPS prepares for total solar eclipse

Amazed is how Cindy Moore, a science teacher at Gothenburg Public Schools, described her reaction at how rare it is for Gothenburg to be in the area of totality for the eclipse that will occur on Monday, Aug. 21. Moore is part of the faculty committee that is coordinating the events for the students of GPS on the day of the total solar eclipse.

Parents are invited to a presentation being held at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center on Aug. 14 about the schedule and procedures for the day of the eclipse. An informational letter will also be sent home to all parents of GPS students. Although the event on school grounds is not open to the public, parents are welcome to attend with their child.
